Shyam Pathak is a Television Actor. He is playing the character of Patrakar Popatlal on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah who is a Patrakar (Journalist). He always keeps a Chhatri (Umbrella) with him. He is a under weight and funny character.

He comes from a very simple middle-class Gujarati family, born on 6th June, 1976. His mother wanted him to become a CA. So, he worked hard and became one but that wasn’t something he wanted to do. He wanted to be an actor. So without informing anyone at home, he joined the National School of Drama (NSD). There he met a South Indian girl who was his classmate and later become his wife. His elder daughter Niyati is five and son Parth is one-and-a-half-years-old.

He is very cynical and demands everything to be cancelled, with the tag lines “Cancel kardo” and “Duniya hila doonga”. He is shown in an episode where Popatlal and Daya go to a guru before Shivratri for Marriage Consultation, and he always tries to marry but in vain he doesn’t succeed.

He is popular uncle for the “Tapu Sena”.He is one of the funniest and popular character in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
