Gada Family includes Jethalal Champaklal Gada, Daya Jethalal Gada, Tipendra Jethalal Gada and Champaklal Gada.

The story mainly revolves around Jethalal Champaklal Gada and his family. Gada family is Kutchi-Gujarati Jain. Jethalal is a successful businessman and runs an electronic store, “Gada Electronics”, in Andheri, Mumbai. He has studied till class 10 and cannot speak English. This serial captures the drama of his day to day life and his interactions with the people of Gokuldham society. He is also scared of his father, Champaklal Gada. Jethalal has a innocent crush on Babita, Krishnan Iyer‘s wife and he always fights with Krishnan Iyer and Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide.

His wife, Daya Jethalal Gada is an uneducated, family oriented woman, who has studied till class 7. She is always ready to dance the “Garba”. She is from Ahmedabad. She is shown to be always on the phone with her mother, who finds new and funny names for Jethalal. She calls Jethalal as “Tapu Ke Papa” as she, like many Indian housewives, think it is sin to take the husband’s name. Jethalal often scolds her. Despite this, there is love and unity between them.

They have a son, Tipendra Jethalal Gada(Tapu), who is smart but very naughty. Tapu is the leader of society’s children’s brigade known as “Tapu Sena”. They make all the plans for fun parties on holidays. He is not liked by Aatmaram Bhide, who always complains about him to Jethalal, but is best friend of Bhide‘s daughter Sonu.

Champaklal Jayantilal Gada, father of Jethalal is a very kind man and an ideal grandfather in his late sixties. He is an ardent Gandhian. He is very religious and the entire society respects him. He often scolds Jethalal when he disrespects Daya. When Jethalal does something he doesn’t like, he gets mad at him. He looks like his father Late Jayantilal Girdharlal Gada.
